T-Mobile customers are now seeing voicemail transcripts in Google Phone app

It's a huge improvement over the clunky voicemail dialing we used to have to endure. However, some T-Mobile users, myself included, are now seeing transcriptions there as well, making the process even easier. This capability was <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/11/13/google-phone-v14-prepares-offer-voicemail-transcriptions-carriers-automatically-correct-international-phone-numbers-apk-teardown/">added to the Phone app back in November</a>.</p> <p><span id="more-472096"></span></p> <p style="text-align: center"><a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_gQ00vMYR.jpg" class=" no-style"><img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-472100" src="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_gQ00vMYR-329x658.jpg" alt="" width="329" height="658" /></a> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_Screenshot_20180131-190746.png" class=" no-style"><img class="alignnone wp-image-472102 size-medium" src="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_Screenshot_20180131-190746-329x658.png" width="329"...

Well, that day has arrived, and the new applets even include limited Alexa and Google Home integration. Wiser heating systems have also received IFTTT integration. <span id="more-472092"></span></p> <p><a href="https://wiser.draytoncontrols.co.uk/">Wiser</a>, for the unfamiliar, is an electronic heating solution by the British company Drayton, sort of like Nest's thermostats.<div class="clear"></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2018/01/31/ifttt-now-plays-nice-tivo-wiser-heat/" class="read-more">Read More</a></p><p><a href='http://www.androidpolice.com/2018/01/31/ifttt-now-plays-nice-tivo-wiser-heat/'>IFTTT now plays nice with...

Google Play services 11.9.75, which fixes Cast device Wi-Fi issues, has hit stable

<p style="text-align: center"><a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_Google_Home_Family.width-1000-728x433.png" class=" no-style"><img class="alignnone size-hero-size wp-image-472088" src="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_Google_Home_Family.width-1000-728x433-728x433.png" alt="" width="668" height="397" /></a></p> <p>Last month it was <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2018/01/14/google-home-max-appears-killing-wifi-networks/">revealed</a> that Google Cast-supported devices were causing networking issues for many. After the story garnered widespread attention, Google quickly <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2018/01/18/google-says-fix-coming-tomorrow-wi-fi-problems-associated-cast-devices/">pushed out a fix</a> in the form of the Play services 11.9.74 beta. Affected parties were able to manually install this version or jump into the testing program to get it, and it was supposed to fix the issue. But, that was a beta release that not everyone received (since betas are opt-in).<div class="clear"></div> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2018/01/31/google-play-services-11-9-75-fixes-cast-device-wi-fi-issues-hit-stable/" class="read-more">Read More</a></p><p><a href='http://www.androidpolice.com/2018/01/31/google-play-services-11-9-75-fixes-cast-device-wi-fi-issues-hit-stable/'>Google Play services 11.9.75, which fixes Cast...

Up until now, Google Calendar's desktop site hasn't actually shown that information naively, which was a bummer for those that might have needed it. But, that particular omission has now been remedied, as Google has added a setting to show week numbers on the desktop site for Google Calendar. <span id="more-472064"></span></p> <p style="text-align: center"><a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_chrome_2018-01-31_19-43-24.png" class=" no-style"><img class="alignnone wp-image-472078" src="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_chrome_2018-01-31_19-43-24.png" width="582" height="400" /></a> <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/nexus2cee_chrome_2018-01-31_19-50-12.png" class="...

Amazon Cloud Cam review: A good value, but missing some features

In fact, some makers of home security cameras use Amazon's web services to store video. It only makes sense for Amazon to get into this market as it increasingly pushes home automation with Alexa. <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Introducing-Amazon-Cloud-Cam/dp/B01C4UY0JK?tag=androidpolice-20">The Cloud Cam</a> is a 1080p indoor security camera with a competitive price point of $120 when it's not on sale. This camera has a lot going for it, but it's clear Amazon is still just getting started with home security—the Cloud Cam...

OxygenOS 5.0.2 for OnePlus 5 brings face unlock, better EIS for video, CPU security patch, and more

The 5T's implementation is stupid quick - so quick, in fact, that you often don't even see the lockscreen before it unlocks. Now, in OxygenOS 5.0.2, the feature has <a href="http://www.androidpolice.com/2017/12/24/face-unlock-coming-oneplus-5/">made its way to the OnePlus 5 as promised</a>. Waymo leads autonomous race with lowest human driver takeover rate

Waymo has a rather sizable advantage in the self-driving field. An order for “thousands” of more cars was announced yesterday, as the Alphabet division plans to soon launch a public ride service in Arizona. That lead is backed up by stats, with a report from the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) noting the lowest […]

Nokia seems to be attempting this approach with its new ad, which features a guru teaching an apartment renter about the arts of minimalism and 'Phone Shui.' In other words, Nokia is pushing its pure Android angle.</p> <p><span id="more-472055"></span></p> <p>[youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e7t7Q2P5nWo?feature=oembed&w=668&h=376]</p> <p>The commercial stars "minimalist guru and superstar vlogger Aapo Hämälänanainen," who has somehow made his way into a man's apartment and gotten rid of all of his things (including his roommate). Hämälänanainen then calms...
