YouTube is Now Available for the Nintendo Switch

YouTube is now available on the Nintendo Switch. A report surfaced last week that claimed the streaming service would be available on the portable gaming console, pegging the release for November 8. The report turned out to be right on point.

Switch owners can download the app for free through the Nintendo eShop. The app will work similar to the standard mobile YouTube app, offering access to your subscriptions, trending and home pages. YouTube mentions that the Switch also supports 360-degree videos.

Interestingly, because the app offers the same functionality as a mobile app, you’ll get quick access to your Movies Anywhere account by clicking on your profile and then going into “purchases.” There, you’ll find movies you’ve purchased through services like iTunes and Google Play.

With Hulu and YouTube now available, that leaves services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video as the two major holdouts.
